The rainbow appears as an emblem of promise and renewal, as well as the imagined bridge that links the visible world and all the invisible, magical and supernatural. However, for many, it is also a symbol of the LGBTQ+ pride and for this art project it is the inspiration to represent love, inclusion and all the diversity in our life journeys. I was asked as an artist, to create an art project that could include participation from all placemakers around the globe. We wanted to celebrate together visually the historic civil rights achievements, as well as, to give voice to the people living in countries where it is still illegal or unsafe to be gay.
